Abbie Bruff is an artist from Barnsley, currently studying MA Fine Art in Leeds. Her photography practice explores relational connection, lived experience, and vulnerability. Through layering and process-based printing, she investigates how emotional and physical traces can be translated into visual form, creating work that reflects the intimacy and honesty of human interaction.
Between Panic and Pleasure
‘Between Panic and Pleasure’ is dedicated to the suppleness of a person in their room. These photographs explore the creativity, adaptation and vulnerability that takes shape in bedrooms and the connection that forms within them. For many people I have photographed, their room doubles up as art studios, practice rooms and a social space.
Image Description:
Image of ‘Between Panic and Pleasure’ installed in ‘From my Bed’ exhibited in the corner of the white walled gallery. A photographic installation incorporating an array of images in both black and white and colour. Installed in a scattered and layered arrangement in a collage style outstretch and spreading out over multiple walls, mimicking the way someone would put pictures and posters on their own bedroom wall. Within all the images my friends are mainly sat on their beds, surrounded by band posters, musical instruments, art supplies or simply just relaxing.
